Our Lady of the Rosary of Pompeii

Day 1-27

We have noticed that if you pray all 15 mysteries in one go, there are some different ways to approach our construction and we decided to add this page, where all 15 mysteries are in one go.

This is the first 27 days prayer of the Novena – the 27 petition days.

We ask for the intercession of the Blessed Virgin

Memorare, The Raccolta, ed. 1910, #197. Coeleste Palmetum 1866.

Remember, O most loving Virgin Mary,

that it is a thing unheard of,

that anyone ever had recourse to thy protection,

implored thy help, and sought thine intercession,

and was left forsaken.

Filled, therefore, with confidence in thy goodness,

I fly to thee, O Mother, Virgin of Virgins;

to thee I come,

before thee I stand, a sorrowful sinner.

Despise not my words, O Mother of the word;

but graciously hear and grant my prayer.

Amen.

MEMORARE, O piissima Virgo Maria,

ad te, Virgo Virginum, Mater, curro, ad te venio,

coram te gemens peccator assisto.

Noli, Mater Verbi, verba mea despicere;

THE OFFERING PRAYER BEFORE ROSARY

(incl. Blessed Eucharist prayer from Our Lady of Fatima’s first apparition on 13th May 1917.)

Eternal Father,

I offer you this Rosary,

through Mary's Immaculate Heart in union with her Son, Jesus Christ's precious blood, as thanksgiving for all your almighty acts,

according to Jesus' Sacred Heart intentions;

for all grace and blessing that will make us close to this beloved Heart

in life, in death, in time and eternity;

for the sick;

for the dying;

for the conversion of sinners and for the souls in Purgatory;

for those who have asked for our prayers and we are obliged to ask for and the family's intentions, to You, God, may all lead to your greater honour and glory and a glorious death for us all.

O most Holy Trinity, I adore You.

My God, my God,

I love You in the most Blessed Sacrament.

Amen

We pray for our intention:

I pray this Rosary for your glory, O Queen of the Holy Rosary, and,

we all ask that you as our Lady of Pompeii,

to plead with Your Son that, through divine intervention,

He frees the Church from those who seek to harm her and destroy her.

+ In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen

+ In nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti, Amen

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,

Creator of heaven and earth.

And in Jesus Christ,

His only Son, our Lord,

                                    Let us kneel

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the Virgin Mary,

                                    Let us arise

suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, died, and was buried.

He descended into hell;

on the third day He rose again

from the dead;

He ascended into heaven,

and is seated at the right hand of God

the Father almighty,

from there He shall come to judge

the living and the dead.

I believe

in the Holy Spirit,

the Holy Catholic Church,

the Communion of Saints,

the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body

and life everlasting.

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done

on earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

and forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us,

and lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

the Lord is with thee,

blessed art thou among women

(Annunciatio)

(Luk 1:26-38)

In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. And he came to her and said,

“Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you!”

But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and considered in her mind what sort of greeting this might be. And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there will be no end.”

And Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I have no husband?”

And the angel said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God. And behold, your kinswoman Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son; and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren.

For with God nothing will be impossible.”

And Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.”

And the angel departed from her.

(We do the Sign of the Cross Faith Hope and Charity which both opens and closes the sequence of prayer)

In those days Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a city of Judah, and she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost and she exclaimed with a loud cry,

“Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!

And why is this granted me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

For behold, when the voice of your greeting came to my ears,

the babe in my womb leaped for joy.

And blessed is she who believed

that there would be a fulfilment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.”

In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be enrolled. This was the first enrollment, when Quirinius was governor of Syria. And all went to be enrolled, each to his own city.

And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be enrolled with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child. And while they were there, the time came for her to be delivered.

And she gave birth to her first-born son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.

(Presentatio)

(Luk 2:22-35)

(We do the Sign of the Cross Fides, Spes and Caritas which both opens and closes the sequence of prayer)

And when the time came for their purification according to the law of Moses, they brought him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the law of the Lord, “a pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.”

Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. And inspired by the Spirit he came into the temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the law, he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said,

“Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word; for mine eyes have seen thy salvation which thou hast prepared in the presence of all peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to thy people Israel.”

And his father and his mother marveled at what was said about him; and Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother,

“Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that is spoken against that thoughts out of many hearts may be revealed.”

The Finding in the Temple

(Inventio in Templo)

(Luk 2:41-52)

(We do the Sign of the Cross Faith, Hope and Charity which b oth opens and closes the sequence of prayer)

Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the Passover. And when he was twelve years old, they went up according to custom; and when the feast was ended, as they were returning, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem. His parents did not know it, but supposing him to be in the company they went a day’s journey, and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintances; and when they did not find him, they returned to Jerusalem, seeking him.

After three days they found him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions; and all who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers. And when they saw him they were astonished; and his mother said to him,

“Son, why have you treated us so? Behold, your father and I have been looking for you anxiously.”

And he said to them,

“How is it that you sought me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?”

And they did not understand the saying which he spoke to them. And he went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was obedient to them; and his mother kept all these things in her heart. And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature, and in favor with God and man.

They come to a place, which is named Gethsemane; and he says to his disciples: Sit here till I pray.

He took with him Peter and James and John, and began to be distressed and in anguish, and said to them:

"My soul is encompassed with sorrow even to death: remain here and keep watch."

And going forward a little he fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it was possible, the hour might pass away from him; and he said:

"Abba, Father, all things are possible for thee; remove this cup from me: yet not what I will, but what thou want."

He returned and finds them sleeping, and says to Peter:

"Simon, sleepest thou? hadst thou not strength to watch one hour? Watch and pray, pray that you enter not into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."

And again, he went away and prayed, saying the same words. And, when he returned, he found them sleeping again;
for their eyes were heavy; and they knew not what to answer him. He comes back the third time and says to them:

"Sleep the remaining time, and rest? it is enough; the hour has come: Behold, the Son of man is delivered into the hands of sinners. Rise, let us go: Behold, he that delivers me up - is at hand."

Jesus Before Pilate

(Iesu Flagellatus)

(Mark 15:1-15, Matt 27:17, 19, 21, 24-26)

(We do the Sign of the Cross Faith Hope and Charity which both opens and closes the sequence of prayer)

1And immediately in the morning, the chief priests holding consultation, with the elders and the scribes, and the whole Council. They bound Jesus and led him away and delivered him to Pilate. And Pilate asked him: "Art thou the King of the Jews?"

And Jesus answered and said to him: "Thou sayest."

And the chief priests accused him of many things. Pilate again asked him:

"Answerest thou nothing? See of how many things they accuse thee,"

But Jesus no longer answered any thing: so that Pilate wondered.

At every feast Pilate released to them one prisoner whom they chose. And there was one called Barabbas who was put in prison with some seditious men, who in the insurrection had committed murder. The multitude then came and began to ask Pilate to do for them according to his custom. 17Pilate said to them:

"Whom will you that I release to you, Barabbas or Jesus who is called Christ?"

19And while he sat on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying: Have nothing to do with that just man; for I have suffered much this day in a dream because of him.

The chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowd that they should ask for Barabbas, that Pilate should rather release Barabbas to them. The chief priests instigated the crowd to have Jesus destroyed.

21And the governor said to them: Which of the two will you that I release to you? They said: "Barabbas."

12And Pilate again answered and said to them: "What then will you that I shall do with him whom who is called Christ?"

They again cried out: "Crucify him."

But Pilate said to them: "Why, what evil has he done?"

But they cried out vehemently: "Crucify him."

24And Pilate seeing that nothing avails, but rather that a tumult is rising, took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying: "I am innocent of the blood of this man: see you to it."

15And so Pilate, willing to satisfy the multitude, released Barabbas,

and handed over Jesus, after he had scourged him, to be crucified.

27And there followed him a great multitude of the people, and of women that bewailed and lamented him.

But Jesus turned to them and said:

Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me; but weep for yourselves and for your children; for behold, there are coming days in which they shall say: Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that did not give suck.

Then shall they begin to say to the mountains: Fall on us, and to the hills: Cover us; for if they do these things in the green tree, what shall be done in the dry?

And there were also two others, two evildoers, to be crucified with Jesus.

31In like manner also the chief priests deriding among themselves with the scribes said:

"Others he saved, himself he cannot save. Christ the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, that we may see and believe."

there was also a superscription over him: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

And one of the evildoers who were hanged blasphemed him, saying: "If thou be Christ? save thyself and us."

But the other, answering, rebuked him and said:

"Do not even thou fear God, seeing that thou art in the same condemnation?

We indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of what we have done; but this man has done nothing evil."

Then he said: "Jesus, remember me when thou come in thy kingdom."

Jesus said to him:  "Amen I say to thee, this day thou shalt be with me in Paradise."

And it was almost the sixth hour; and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. 46And Jesus crying out with a loud voice, said:  "Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit."

And saying this, he gave up the ghost.

And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent of two, from the top to the bottom, in the midst as the earth quaked.

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

and forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us,

and lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

We ask for the intercession of the Blessed Virgin

Memorare, The Raccolta, ed. 1910, #197. Coeleste Palmetum 1866.

Remember, O most loving Virgin Mary,

that it is a thing unheard of,

that anyone ever had recourse to thy protection,

implored thy help, and sought thine intercession,

and was left forsaken.

Filled, therefore, with confidence in thy goodness,

I fly to thee, O Mother, Virgin of Virgins;

to thee I come,

before thee I stand, a sorrowful sinner.

Despise not my words, O Mother of the word;

but graciously hear and grant my prayer.

Amen.

MEMORARE, O piissima Virgo Maria,

He frees the Church from those who seek to harm her and destroy her.

(primum mysterium Gloriósa)

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ

(Resurréctio)

(Mark 16:1-8)

(We do the Sign of the Cross Faith, Hope and Love which both opens and closes the sequence of prayer)

And when the sabbath had passed, Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint him. Very early on the first of the week they came to the sepulcher, the sun having risen.

And they said among themselves:

"Who shall roll away for us the stone from the door of the sepulcher?"

And looking up they see that the stone had been rolled away; for it was very great. They entered the sepulcher and saw a young man, sitting at the right side, clothed in a white robe; and they were amazed. He says to them:

“Be not amazed. You seek Jesus the Nazarene who was crucified; he has risen, he is not here: see the place where they laid him.”

And going out they fled from the sepulcher; for trembling and astonishment had seized them; and they said nothing to any one, for they were afraid.

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

(Asénsio )

(Acts 1:6-12)

(We do the Sign of the Cross Faith, Hope and love which both opens and closes the sequence of prayer)

So when they had come together, they asked him,

“Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?”

He said to them,

“It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has fixed by his own authority.

“you shall receive power, after the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be my witnesses, both in Jerusalem and to the end of the earth.”

And when he had said these things, as they beheld, he was taken up, and a cloud received him out of their sight.
And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, and said,

”why stand looking towards heaven?  This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven,

shall so come in like manner as you saw him go into heaven.”

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.

(tertium mysterium Gloriósa)

The Descent of the Holy Ghost

(Descénsus Spiritus Sancti)

(Acts 2:1-12)

(We do the Sign of the Cross Faith Hope and Charity which both opens and closes the sequence of prayer)

When the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all together at the same time.

And suddenly there came from heaven a sound as of a rushing, violent blast, and filled the whole house where they were sitting; and there appeared to them tongues like fire distributing themselves, and it sat on each one of them; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Ghost gave them utterance.

And when this sound occurred, the multitude in Jerusalem came together, devout men from every nation under heaven. All were perplexed because they heard them speak in his own language.

All were astonished, saying:

”Behold, are not all these that speak Galileans? And how hear we, each one in our own language in which we were born …

How hear we them speaking in our own tongues, the mighty works of God?"

They were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another:

"… What can this be?”

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

and forgive us our trespasses,

(quartum mysterium Gloriósa)

The Assumption of Mary into Heaven

(Assúmptio)

(1 Thess 4:13-1)

(We do the Sign of the Cross Fides, Spes and Caritas which both opens and closes the sequence of prayer)

But we do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those that have fallen asleep, that you sorrow not as the rest also who have no hope.

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, so also those that have fallen asleep, will God through Jesus bring with him. … the Lord himself, with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God, shall descend from heaven, and the dead in Christ shall arise first …  to meet the Lord in the air.

so shall we always be with the Lord.

So then comfort one another in these words.

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

and forgive us our trespasses,

(Coronátio in Caelo)

(Rev. 12:1, 14:1-5, Isa 6:3)

(We do the Sign of the Cross Faith, Hope and Charity which b oth opens and closes the sequence of prayer)

And a great sign appeared in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars;

And I heard a voice from heaven like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of loud thunder; and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps.  And they sung a new song before the throne, and before the four living creatures, and the elders; and no one was able to learn the song, …

And in their mouth was found no guile; for they are blameless.  And one called to another and said:

“Holy, holy, holy

is the Lord of hosts;
the whole earth is full of his glory.”

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
