THE EIGHT DAY ROSARY FOR THE DECEASED®

IN MEMORIAM

When we die, our soul – the eternal reflection of the Triune God – never dies.

Today we pray a Holy Rosary in memory of

N. ________________________________

MM DD YYYY

We pray that Mary will intercede with God that N.  may have eternal rest with Him forever.

O God, the Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful,

give to the souls of Your servants departed the remission of all their sins,

that through our pious prayers they may obtain the pardon they always desired.

We beseech You, O Lord, to help the souls in Purgatory

whom You have redeemed with Your Precious Blood.

To you, O Lord, we commend the soul of Your servant, N.

He/She is dead to this world. May He/She live in You.

And whatever sins He/She may have committed in this life

do You in Your most merciful goodness forgive.

Lord Jesus,

You are the Resurrection and the Life.

You comforted Martha and Mary on the death of their brother Lazarus.

Console now those who are sad at the death of N._____________________, our brother/sister in Christ.

May the angels lead You into paradise; may the martyrs receive You at your arrival and lead You to the holy city Jerusalem.

May choirs of angels receive You and with Lazarus, once a poor man, may You have eternal rest.

Eternal rest grant unto N., O Lord.

And let perpetual light shine upon Him.

From the gates of hell,

Deliver His soul, O Lord.

May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Amen.

O Lord, hear my prayer.

And let my cry come unto Thee.

Merciful Lord Jesus, grant Him everlasting rest.

(Pie Iesu Dómine, dona ei réquiem sempitérnam)

NOW OUR ROSARY FOR THE DECEASED COMMENCE

THE GLORIOUS MYSTERIES

On the Crucifix of Rosary:

One begins by holding the Crucifix of the Holy Rosary, kiss it, do the sign of the Cross and pray:

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

In nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti, Amen.

Apostles' Creed, (still at the Crucifix of the Rosary).

The Church is a mystery in as much as in her visible reality there is present and active a divine spiritual reality which can only be seen with the eyes of faith.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,

Creator of heaven and earth.

And in Jesus Christ,

His only Son, our Lord,

Let us kneel

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the Virgin Mary,

Let us arise

suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, died, and was buried.

He descended into hell;

on the third day He rose again

from the dead;

He ascended into heaven,

and is seated at the right hand of God

the Father almighty,

from there He shall come to judge

the living and the dead.

I believe

in the Holy Spirit,

the Holy Catholic Church,

the Communion of Saints,

the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body

and life everlasting.

Our father    (First Pearl after the Cross)

The Word of God communicates the mystery of salvation. Through the Lord’s Prayer, we are therefore aware of our being sons of the Father in the Son.

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done

on earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

and forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us,

and lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

3 Hail Mary (The three Cluster Pearls, pearl 2-4)

The Divine Virtues Fides, Spes et Caritas (Faith, Hope and Love).

Mary becomes the mother of Jesus, she gave herself entirely to serve the mystery of redemption, by God's grace.

Hail Mary,

full of grace,

the Lord is with thee,

blessed art thou among women

and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus

- who increases our Faith

- who increases our Hope

- who increases our Love

Holy Mary, Mother of God,

pray for us sinners,

now and at the hour of our death.

Doxology  (the single Pearl right before the Connecting Medallion)

The mystery of the Most Holy Trinity is the central mystery of the Christian faith and of Christian life, and it is the source of all the other mysteries.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,

As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end.

Amen.

Fatima prayer (Card. Burke prays the it right here)

The 3rd apparition of our Lady of Fatima, 13 July 1917: When you pray the Rosary, say after each mystery;

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins,

save us from the fires of hell,

and lead all souls to Heaven,

especially those in most need of Your Mercy.

Next Step is the Connecting Centerpiece of the Rosary

(Finish the Rosary prayer at the Addendum II)

Our hardcopy (not yet possible to order) contains our whole eight day prayer structure including illustrations from a prominent family's art collection.

As this is online, and for free, we like to keep it so for now.

THE EIGHT DAY ROSARY FOR THE DECEASED® is used for eight days, and we know from experience that, sometimes, a person miss or 'forget' to pray it for one day, and the person then just 'add one more day' with the prayers for the deceased. It is the eight days of prayers that we believe or hope are important, rather than the consecutive eight days. We know from experience that once you break the eight day Rosary prayers, the vice 'laziness' steps in instead of the committment to pray.

The creator of the 'Eight Day Rosary...' prays it for eight consecutive days. How you do it, is up to you. The Commander Cross Rosary community only gives you a tool, a frame work, to pray for the deceased.

If you pray the daily Rosary, does the Eight Days Rosary, have to be another Rosary than your regular?

We leave that question up to you, as we use the Glorious mysteries all through the eight days prayer, instead of following the traditional daily Rosary format.

We do not know, but we hope that our Rosary prayers assist people through Purgatory to come to Heaven.
